Basic Hair Routine that actually works
I’m not talking styling — no curling wands, no “glass hair” tutorials. Just the bare minimum routine that keeps your hair healthy on an average day. Most hair brands want you buying 12 products that do the same thing. I tried that. It didn’t work. What finally worked was keeping it stupid simple:
1. Clarifying shampoo
If God loved me, He would’ve dropped this into my shower at 15. My hair straight-up refused to grow for years. The second I started using a clarifying shampoo, it was like magic.
The catch: it’s powerful. Only use it a couple times a month (I do twice) or it’ll dry you out. Focus on your scalp only, because that’s where buildup hides.
2. Leave-in conditioner
This is the step that locks the moisture in after washing. It keeps your hair soft, manageable, and way less frizzy without weighing it down. Think of it as the seal that keeps all the good stuff in.
3. Hair oil
Mids to ends, every wash, no excuses. A little goes a long way, and it makes your hair instantly softer, shinier, and way less crunchy. Basically, the easiest “healthy hair” hack out there.
4. Be gentle
Brushing and combing the wrong way can wreck your hair over time. Always start from the bottom and work your way up, section by section. Don’t just rip through knots. Patience saves strands.
That’s it. Four steps. My hair finally grew, stopped breaking, and actually looked good. Because healthy hair doesn’t come from Sephora hauls!!! it comes from consistency.
